Save RAM SETHU or ADAM’s BRIDGE
Published on June 1st, 2007 In Uncategorized |  Views 5224

Dear Friends,

Hope all of you are aware of the fact that Rama Sethu or Adam"s Bridge, believed to have been built by Lord Shri Rama and His Vanara Sena is about to be destroyed by Central Govt for Sethu Samudaram Shipping Canal Project.

Though there were some protest from Hindu Munnani and voiced were raised against the dredging of Ramar"s Bridge by members of BJP, ADMK and Trinamol Congress in Rajya Sabha, the current Central Govt is not ready to take a re-look in to this project.

I feel that this bridge should not be destroyed because some Archeologists are of the opinion that this bridge is man made and carbon dating test reaveal that this is closer to Tretha Yuga - Lord Rama"s period (around 1,75,000 years ago). Some other Archeologists are of the opinion that this bridge only 3500 years ago. So, proper analysis should be made. Moreover, following are the repurcussions in breaking this bridge.

1) Sentiments of majority of Hindus is affected as this is built by Supreme God.

2) This bridge acted as barrier during Dec 2004 Tsunami and protected Southern Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Had this bridge was not there, the effect of Tsunami will be much more in these regions. Prof Tad Murthy, Tsunami specialist and advisor for Central Govt is against the proposed channel of SSCP.

3) This bridge contains lot of Thorium deposits which is believed to give power supply for Tamil Nadu for next 400 years.

4) Marine Ecology will be spoiled.

Friends, those who want to protest against the destruction of Rama"s Bridge may please sign in the following online petition which will be sent to The President of India, Shri Abdul Kalam ji.

    1. Are you anti national? (According to TN, Chief Minister).
    2. Further, Do you have a pakthairvu?. This is because paktharivu is that the special sense of a person who support sethu project. Non-pakutharivu is that those (including some scientist, archealogist, experts etc.) not support sethu project.

    Ha..Ha..Ha.. Good joke, vvvv.

Atleast for time being let us forget TN, Chief Minister and TR Baalu etc. Just sign in the petition and see whether Kalamji helps in protecting Ramar Sethu.

As said in Bhagavad Gita, Karman-yeeva-adthikaarasiya–maa–phaleshu—ka-daa-cha-naa
(Lets do our duty by signing the petition and leave the rest to HIM).

    Hi all,

My heart bleeds for you all hindu fanatics. As a Hindu my sentiment is not affected. Sethu Project is commercialisation of an existing opportunity. As rightly pointed out by Shri.T.R.Baalu in the Parilament, “earlier existing mosque was demolished in the name of Ram and now a non-existing bridge is brought into the picture, requesting the Central Government not to go ahead with a wonderful plan which will boost the economies of India and South India, in particular” Had Ram was alive today, he would have ceratinly pleaded with the Sanghparivar not to demolish the mosque. He would have also requested the so called “majority hindus?” not to block government’s schemes in the welfare of the people. Ramayana is an epic. According to that Ram was obedient to his parents and he loved every one and was loved by every one. Please don’t create hatred in the name of Ram. Ram will not forgive you.

First of all, with emotions apart let us see if this project is really useful. I read an article sometime back but could not get the link.

This project should not be compared against suez canal or panama canal because they were land being broken to create a canal whereas what we are talking here is depthening an area under the sea. So it is not a like to like comparison.

Secondly, the area that should be sweeped if that project is not undertaken is an entire continent (africa and south america) but what we are talking here is a small island and there will be no cost benefits as some naval chief has written recently.

Thirdly, even after the depthening work, it would not be sufficient for large scale vessels to pass through. And to get the revenue projected (for flourishing of south tamilnadu) as is being propaganded we should have all medium range ships in the world to pass through this SSCP once per day which is practically infeasible. Also, the trend is for the medium range ships to go to high range as it is not cost - effective.

In effect, there is no cost benefit analysis carried out for this project and the entire project is being carried out to fill a few pockets. It is unfortunate that an economist PM is a silent spectator to this.

Said all these, when Taj Mahal cannot be touched to build a corridor and you all feel proud to protect it (I do not say it should not be protected) the same treatement should be given to Ram sethu as well.

    regards
    kumar

A secular and a democratic govt should respect the faith of all religions. If a set of people doesnt believe in Ramayana or Ramar Sethu, some other set believes in the same. So, it is not fair to call those who believe as Hindu fanatics.
Suppose, if the bridge is broken and then later on (may be after 200 years), it is proved that it is infact the same bridge referred to in Ramayana, what will happen? The future will feel that a monument is destroyed just like what Taliban did to Bamiyan Buddhas.

    1. I thing that anandvg is a Hindu fanatic. Because of your terrific thoughts my hearts starts to bleed.2. How can you ask equal rights as other religions?.
    3. Whether you decided to destroy beautiful secular country India?
    4. I could not understand how anandvg even think like this?
    5. Are you aware of our principles?.
    4. Iit is right to protest some relgious prophet is wrongly placed in cartoon . Also, it is right to protest some relgious prophet is placed wrongly in movie.(both these not done even within India, some parts of the world)
    5. Hindu sentiments can dried within its own country by many forms. You should accept it. It is write to express the freedom. if you can not, you are fanatic.
please dont be fanatic……..Ram will not forgive you.
    This applicable to kumar also.

    Stupid Anand!

How dare you think Hinduism is equal to others in the eyes of law. The law is supposed to be secular and how the hell can you say this. You are a “desa drogi”. Don’t you know the saying in Tamizh “pazhayana kazhidhalum, pudhiana pugudhalum vazhuvila”. So why the hell you stick to an old religion and also dare to equate it to the new religions which our laws, or the so called protectors of the law like the most. It is clearly proven that the law is very secular when it bends it back to save some terrorist, and you dare to challenge the law to treat Hinduism as equal.

You must be nuts man. Come out of your dreams. Do you know the law of land. Atleast that of TN. The Hindus are “vandherigal” while all other religionists are local dravidians, no matter how new they are.

    Better think before you comment.

    1. I appreciate your correction.

    2. One more correction is that not ‘Save RAM SETHU or ADAM’s BRIDGE’, it is ‘Save ADAM’s BRIDGE’.

    3. whether it is a bridge or not. That we will see later. But I am sure that if its confirmed to be a bridge, then it should be a ADAM’s BRIDGE and not be a Ram Sethu Bridge.

    4. It is like this manner. Now, yoga and meditation is proved to be a good thing for body as well mind. If you say that these are fomulated by a Hindu Monk ‘Pathanjali Maharishi’, then you are again proved to be Hindu fanatic. Instead of that, these are formulated by a ‘Stefenjali Maharshi’. Then, you are not fanatic.

    5. if you can do so, very importantly, Ram will appreciate you.

    To add to vvvv,

If you say caste system is wrong then you are a fool..you need to grow up…

If you say caste system is divison of labour, then you are genius and a true Indian and not a joker.

If after many explanations that caste system is not part of hindu tradition and caste system is different from Division of labour and even after that people continue blabber the same things again and again then you are just not a joker but you are also gsuresh.

    Funny isn’t it..

anandvg maybe right when he says what will happen if we come to know about this bridge is real some 200 years later.

But then, I’m sure we would have better things to worry about that time unless the issue is kept alive.

BTW, assuming that Rama constructed the bridge earlier - even it was for a specific purpose which is already over. Why is that it is required to maintain the same even now ?

After the gsuresh post. No.11, whether ‘Adams bridge’ is one of the caste problem and not a bridge problem. But I strictly believe that its a bridge problem.
Anyhow, I am neither a fool nor a genius. I enough grown up. No need further grow up fastly.
Further, if you are not supported ‘Adams Bridge’, on that Judgement day, you will be put into the hell.

Why are you guys bringing all extraneous matters in the picuture?
The issue in question is about preservation of an Heritage Monument. Here’s a report from Sri Lanka:

In the context of cultural heritage in Sri Lanka there are many such sites which have been preserving the national pride as well as beauty for the people of the world. Apart from natural causes, many development projects and intentional human actions destroy those cultural heritages. The government authorities are actively participating to repair and refurbish the ancient monuments. Techniques of virtual reality can be introduced to recreate images of ancient artifacts in their original forms

While every country in the World is making all efforts to preserve its Heritage Monuments, ONE OF OUR CENTRAL MINISTERS IS SURREPTIOUSLY GOING ROUND TRYING TO DESTROY DOCUMENTS THAT PROVE THE ORIGION AND EXISTENCE OF RAMA SETHU !!

Perhaps our non secular Government wants to show to the world that it is ONE UP over the Taliban, which shot down the 1400 year old statues of Buddha, despite protests from all over the world.
